“Antes de que nos olivden”Jesus Barraza20 x 262 - Color, Hand made Screenprint, Mohawk Archival Paper, Printed in Oakland, 2012“This poster was one of the first screen prints I designed and printed back in 2001. I only made a handful of these and most of them were horribly printed and for years I have been wanting to re-print these and I fianlly got around to it. This poster was originally inspired by a Caifanes song, “Antes que nos olviden”, this was from their first album and had listened to it for years. In the late 1990s I read an interview with the band and they talked about the song being dedicated to the students who were massacred at Tlatelolco in 1968, knowing that made me love the song that much more and inspired me to make the poster.”
